This full flower necklace was a commission in which the customer and I worked together to produce this neckpiece. It was such a fun experience to know exactly how to arrange the flowers to make just what the customer wanted. The perfect length, too!

The color of the base glass inspired this exploration into raised decoration, it reminded me of some of the houses in Tuscany (which I've seen in movies!). The grapes and leaves had to be firmly attached but not melted in all the way. The cane I made had three colors so that the grapes appeared with highlights and shadows.

When I learned bead embroidery,

When I learned bead-weaving, I was excited to add beaded ropes to my pendants for a more finished look. Prices for sterling were going up and I loved the process of sewing the beads together in a pattern. I still make beaded ropes, but since the advent of stainless steel chains (the look of sterling but no tarnish and easy on the pocketbook as well!) I can use my time to make more beads!
